    Y-Care CSR Newsletter - 3rd Issue

    By working with business through various channels over the years, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong (YMCA) has encouraged corporations to devote more resources and care for the disadvantaged in the society so as to promote social inclusion. To build closer ties with the business world, we have specially prepared Y CARE! – CSR and look forward to working hand in hand with various corporations to serve the community.

    Sunlight REIT’s Opening Ceremony “Sunlight Iron Kids Programme”

    Date: 13 July 2014
    The “Sunlight Iron Kids Programme” sponsored by Sunlight REIT has been working in conjunction with the Association’s Tin Shui Wai, Tin Ching, and Tin Chak Centres to provide several consecutive days of professional sports training for low-income family children. The activities include swimming, running, and cycling. For further encouragement, each participating team will receive one bicycle for their use. More than 80 participants arrived on 13 July at Sheung Shui Centre to participate in the opening ceremony of the “Sunlight Iron Kids” training programme They declared themselves Iron Kids, and in the next two months, they will engage in professional physical training to prepare for the Sunlight Iron Kids Competition to be held on 5 October.

    MTR and Japanese children in Hong Kong toured Siu Ho Wan Airport Railway Depot

    Date: 14th June 2014
    The MTR Corporation arranged for 15 volunteers from “People of Railway, Heart of Railway” to accompany 34 children receiving “services to Japanese in Hong Kong”. The event provided by the Association was a visit on 14 June to Siu Ho Wan Airport Railway Depot. The Japanese children learned about the railway system in Hong Kong, as well as about the operations of railway services, different routes, the characteristics of the different trains, and the work of the Siu Ho Wan Depot.

    BNP Paribas and Sham Shui Po children make environmentally friendly stationery

    Date: 12nd July 2014
    Nearly 60 volunteers from BNP Paribas and 60 children from Sham Shui Po expressed their creativity in making environmentally friendly document envelopes that were practical and unique. The event also opened the “Children’s Dreams” of the “Realise Love, Realise Dreams” project. In addition, volunteers collected information about learning activities of interest, so that in the future the children’s dreams may be realised one by one.
