Membership Policy

Membership application, cancellation and termination (Except for Group Membership and Allied School Membership)

 

Membership application

  • To join the membership, it is required to fill in a membership application form and pay the requisite membership fee.
  • After receiving the completed form and the fee, the Association will issue a new member with their membership card, give them an official receipt and activate their membership.

 

Membership cancellation

  • If you wish to cancel your membership, you will need to inform the Association in writing. Upon receiving your cancellation notification, the Association will then issue you with an official notice which includes the date on which your membership will officially become inactive.
  • The membership fee is not refundable.
  • If you wish to restart your membership after it has been cancelled, you are required to apply it again.

 

Membership termination

  • The Association reserves the right to terminate a membership if a member is found to be acting inappropriately or acts in violation of the core values of the Association, or hold more than one membership at the same time.
  • The membership fee is not refundable.

 

Distribution and use of the membership card

 

  • Each member will be issued a membership card. Group members will be issued with relevant number of membership cards according to the category they have applied for.
  • If a member is in possession of more than one membership card, his/her membership will expire on the expiry date listed on the membership card validated by the Association. No requests to extend the length of a membership’s validity by aggregating the terms of the various membership cards will be entertained.
  • Members must present a valid membership card in order to take part in activities organised by the Association or to use the Association’s facilities.
  • Apart from those holding Life or Supporting memberships, all members must apply for an additional membership card and pay a surcharge if the original physical card is lost or destroyed. Their existing membership term and expiry date will remain unchanged.
  • Apart from Group Members, a membership card is only valid when it is held by that member. The card itself cannot be transferred or assigned to any other person.
  • The Association reserves the right to request that members present their membership cards for verification by the Association staff whenever it is deemed to be necessary or appropriate.
