Trial Scheme for an On-site Training Programme for Ethnic Minorities

 

Introduction

 

Aims:

To further strengthen the support for the ethnic minorities, a Trial Scheme for an On-site Training Programme for Ethnic Minorities commissioned by the Home Affairs Bureau has been launched to provide on-site training places in social enterprises (SEs) for Ethnic Minorities (EMs). The programme aims to provide EMs training opportunities and to help develop their positive work attitudes, interpersonal and job skills, so as to enhance their employment prospect, and to facilitate their early integration into the community.
 

Duration:

2016-2018

 

Target:

Ethnic Minorities aged 15 or above

 

Service Charge:

Free of charge

 

Content:

Training includes:

  1. 4 sessions of general training prior to on-site training at SEs: (i.e. 2 sessions of Workplace Chinese & 1 full day camp)
  2. On-site training for not fewer than 150 hours within 2 months
    • Trainees with 80% attendance or above for the on-site training are entitled to a training allowance of HK$2,000.
    • SEs* will receive an allowance of HK$3,750 at maximum# upon completion of the arranged on-site training for each participant.

Provision of on-site training places at SEs*:

We are now seeking partnership with SEs* for providing on-site training places to participants. Interested SEs* please download and fill in the Form and return to us by email or fax.

*Qualification of on-site training places provider: SEs registered under the Social Enterprise Directory complied by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service – HSBC Social Enterprise Business Centre; or funded by the Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme run by the Home Affairs Department of the Government.)
#For those participants attended fewer than 120 hours of on-site training, allowance will be made to SEs on a pro-rata basis according to the actual hours of on-site training attended by the participants concerned.
