Since 2003 the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong has established ¡§University YMCAs¡¨ in different universities in Hong Kong. Professional social workers are stationed on campuses and act as student development officers collaborating with university staff to help students with their studies and career goal development as well as enhance their problem-solving skills. This is achieved via the provision of leadership training courses, group activities, individual student counselling and consultation services. Students can benefit by making full use of the Association¡¦s extensive international network; each year selected students get the opportunity to broaden their horizons further by taking part in Chinese YMCA exchange programmes and overseas voluntary services.
¡§Uni-Y®¡¨ is now a registered trademark of the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong. This helps to boost
the overall awareness of the ¡§University YMCA¡¨ ministry, enabling its broad recognition among
tertiary institutions and the communities it serves.
