Offering hope to the vulnerable in society, the association, through the Y¡¦s Men¡¦s Centre for the Deaf, provides the deaf with vocational counselling and recreational activities and offers volunteers relevant training and sign language courses. In addition, two sheltered workshops and three hostels under the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong offer employment opportunities and accommodation for the mentally handicapped, helping them improve their work opportunities and self-reliance. Also, these service units often work together with community programmes
through which the handicapped can make their contribution and perform a public service; such
programmes also enable the public to gain a better understanding of the potential that the
handicapped can achieve and of their needs from society.
Volunteer Recruitment
The association values the contributions of volunteers. If you are interested in the volunteer work of a particular service, please contact our centres directly.
